  • APPROACH & PHILOSOPHY

Ashley approaches supervision from a humanistic and integrative theoretical orientation.

The humanistic model focuses on the trainee’s personal growth and development. The supervisor helps the trainee to become more aware of their values, beliefs, and biases. This type of supervision can be beneficial in increasing self-awareness and developing therapeutic skills.

The integrative model suggests seven central tasks of clinical supervision: creating the learning relationship, teaching, counseling, monitoring, evaluation, consultation, and administration.

As well, social, cultural, environmental, and other oppressive systems will be discussed at length, as these affect our clients daily. We’ll discuss what it means to be an ally and advocate to minority and marginalized communities.

  • POPULATIONS & SPECIALTIES

Ashley works with social workers in a wide-range of worksites currently, ranging from school social workers, those working in IOP and PHP programs, those in private and group practices, and with clients struggling with substance abuse.

Ashley has worked with populations struggling with severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, chronic homelessness, and trauma. She has primarily worked with adults, but has supervised individuals who work with every age range of individual, families, and groups.
